Getting Started
Use Cards.gg to make a public link card that feels like your own page, not a plain list of links.
Start here
Create or log in to your Cards.gg account.
Your login stays saved unless you log out, so you can return to editing without rebuilding your card.
Open Customize and upload your core assets.
Add a background, profile avatar, audio, colours, blur, opacity, reactions, and visual effects.
Add socials from the Links page.
Public cards show clean platform icons with hover labels, not big link rows at the bottom.
Connect Discord if you want live identity.
Discord can provide your avatar, username, badges, status, activity, and custom status when enabled.
Public Profile Cards
Your public profile is the page visitors see when they open your Cards.gg link.
Card
What appears on the card
Display name, handle, avatar, bio, badges, Discord presence, social icons, visitor reactions, profile views, and enabled audio or visual effects.
What no longer appears
The old large bottom rows for items like latest drops, bookings, and portfolio links have been removed from the public card layout.
Socials are icon-first
Links added as socials are displayed as platform icons with real brand styling and hover tooltips.
Reactions are controlled
Visitors can react to a card, and users can decide which reaction types are visible from Customize.
Best practice: keep your bio short, use 4 to 7 socials, and let the background and effects carry the vibe.
Customize
The Customize page controls your card design and saves the settings that power profile previews and templates.
Editor
Core design
Background media, avatar, cursor, description, location, opacity, blur, colours, and layout style.
Effects
Username effects, border effects, avatar visualiser rings, audio glow, background effects, and reaction visibility.
Free tier
Free users get clean effects and enough control to make a strong card without paying.
Premium and founder access
Premium unlocks the strongest visual effects. Founder access is internal and should not be treated as a public selling point.
Discord Connection
Discord linking lets Cards.gg pull identity details that make a profile feel alive.
OAuth
Click Connect Discord from Customize.
You will be sent to Discord to approve the Cards.gg app, then returned to your profile editor.
Enable the toggles you want.
Use Discord avatar, status, current activity, custom status, Discord badge, and avatar decoration can be enabled separately.
Keep the account connected.
The connection should stay saved unless the user presses Disconnect. Reconnect only if Discord access is revoked or the token expires.
Live online status needs Discord presence data. If the bot cannot see presence for a user, Cards.gg can still show the connected profile but may show offline until the server presence feed is available.
Templates
Templates let users upload a card look so other people can preview it and apply the design to their own profile.
Library
Saved into templates
Background, audio, blur, opacity, colours, border effects, reactions, username effects, avatar ring, layout style, and media references.
Preview behavior
Template cards stay still in the library. Clicking Preview opens the full card with the uploaded layout, media, effects, socials, and audio.
Applying a template
The design is applied to the viewer's own card while keeping their account identity, avatar, badges, and links where needed.
Premium protection
If a template uses premium effects, non-premium users do not get those locked effects applied.
Badges
Badges show trust, support, purchases, events, and account roles on Cards.gg profiles.
Identity
Locked badges
Founder, staff, and verified are restricted. Regular accounts should not be able to equip them unless granted.
Premium badges
Premium badges unlock when a user has premium access. Future paid badges can be sold separately.
Discord badge
The Discord badge uses Discord branding and is tied to the Discord connection flow.
Custom badges
Custom badges are planned for users who buy or earn edit credits for custom names and icons.
Analytics
Analytics help users understand how their profile is performing.
Stats
Profile views
Total views, average daily views, weekly movement, visitor device types, and view history.
Clicks and reactions
Total clicks, click rate, most clicked socials, total reactions, most used reaction, and reaction trends.
Referrers
Track where people arrived from, such as Discord, TikTok, Instagram, direct links, search, or other platforms.
Countries
Show top countries by views where privacy rules and hosting setup allow it.
Cards.gg Bot Dashboard
The bot dashboard at dashboard.cardsgg.com is the control panel for the Cards.gg Discord bot.
Bot
Server setup
Log in with Discord, choose a server you can manage, invite the bot, then run the setup wizard for permissions and modules.
Moderation and security
Use moderation tools, anti-raid and anti-nuke protection, logs, staff actions, and safety workflows for your server.
Tickets and staff inbox
Run support tickets, manage staff replies, and keep server support in one Cards.gg controlled dashboard.
Profile integration
The bot can connect back to Cards.gg profiles so server commands can show profile cards and link people to their public pages.
Server analytics
Review server health, member movement, module activity, and moderation trends from the dashboard.
Message and role tools
Use the message studio, role center, verification-style flows, and premium branding where enabled.
Reports and Safety
Cards.gg needs moderation tools so founders and future staff can keep uploaded content clean.
Safety
Profile reports
Visitors can report profiles for inappropriate content, impersonation, scams, unsafe links, or other issues.
Template moderation
Founders and approved staff can remove templates that break site rules or are not appropriate for the library.
Founder controls
Founder accounts keep full access to moderation and owner-only tools. Staff accounts can be restricted later.
Release rule
Any public upload system should have report, remove, and review tools before it is promoted widely.
FAQ
Fast answers for the problems that usually block testing or release.
Help
Why does Discord say the redirect URL is invalid?
The redirect URL in the Discord Developer Portal must exactly match the deployed callback, including protocol and path. For production, use the cardsgg.com callback configured by the site.
Why does my Discord status show offline?
OAuth gives identity. Real presence needs bot-side presence access and a server feed that can see the user.
Why did a premium effect not apply from a template?
Premium-only effects are intentionally skipped for users who do not have premium access.
What should I add to Vercel?
Add the required Discord OAuth variables, session secret, production site URL, API keys, and any backend storage variables used by the deployed build.
